Released in November 2016 as a grade-school exclusive, the Nike Zoom KD 9 GS ‘Fire and Ice’ features mismatched shoes in colorways, with the left in red and the right in blue. The unique color story takes inspiration from the dubious method that a young Kevin Durant would undertake to warm his hands during outdoor practice sessions in wintertime Maryland: he’d pour hot water over them, resulting in a burning sensation – the proverbial ‘fire and ice’ combination.
