Classic Slip-On 'Checkerboard Black Pewter'

The Vans Classic Slip-On debuted 1977, when it was known as the Vans #48. The silhouette’s iconic checkerboard print soon developed after Vans noticed that teenage skateboarders were using black pens to fill in the pattern on the sidewalls of their shoes. The company shifted the checkerboard print to the canvas upper, leading to numerous color combinations, including this one that combines black with pewter grey.
