Coinciding with the launch of global NikeLab locations, the HTM Free Mercurial Superfly released in June 2012, featuring a design by Fragment Design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara, Nike design legend Tinker Hatfield and Nike CEO Mark Parker. The high-top is inspired by the Mercurial Superfly soccer boot, borrowing its high ankle collar and dynamic Flywire cables. Additional performance benefits include a breathable Flyknit upper, Nikeskin waterproofing and a flexible Nike Free 5.0 sole unit.
