Futurepacer 'Grey One'

In 1984, adidas released the Micropacer, a futuristic sneaker with a built in microsensor that tracked distance, running pace, and calorie burn. While undoubtedly ahead of its time, the runner flopped due to its heavy weight and even heavier price tag. Even so, adidas gave the Micropacer its due in June 2018 with the release of the Futurepacer, a hybrid of the 1984 design and the modern NMD. The ‘Grey One’ colorway features white and Off-White panelling with black and light blue detailing on the heel. The Micropacer’s tongue tab remains, while the NMD’s Boost technology runs the full length of the midsole.
