The classic hoops shoe gets a makeover with premium leather in the Blazer Mid LR, designed with a nostalgic nod to the past and durability for the modern street. Back in the 70s, Nike had just rebranded with a new name and corporate logo, and wanted to break out of its running-exclusive product line. Influenced by the local NBA team in Portland, Nike engineers called their original basketball model the 'Blazer,' and it became the signature shoe of scoring legend George 'The Iceman' Gervin.
