The A Bathing Ape label began in 1993, founded in Tokyo by Japanese street fashion icon, Nigo. A Bathing Ape grew as an underground force for almost a decade before spilling into American hip hop culture. The Bapesta was released in 2002, remade through the A Bathing Ape Bapesta FS-001 Low 'Yellow Red' sneaker. This rendition dresses the shoe in bold color blocking and a subtle reptile-inspired finish. A yellow cupsole supports the shoe, complete with protective tread below.
