Unveiled in September 2012, the Nike Air Penny 5 'Red Eagle' continues the legacy of Hardaway's signature shoe by honoring his high school alma mater. Official team colors and a graphic pattern mimicking the texture of wings are applied to the synthetic leather upper. Mesh windows at the quarters enhance ventilation while the player's mantras are noticed throughout. A sculpted mudguard, Air-imbued midsole and translucent outsole nod to the Air Penny lineage.
