The Air Jordan 9 Retro DB 'Doernbecher' sneaker is from the Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle 2012 project, a special collaboration with the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The unique Air Jordan 9 model, designed by 11-year-old Oswaldo Jiminez, incorporates details personal to Oswaldo: a feather pattern on the sockliner and tongue is a reference to his family nickname “Pollito” or “little chicken,” and the red and green outsole honors his hometown of Queretaro, Mexico.
