Combining elements of past Air Jordans, the Air Jordan 16 'Midnight Navy' hit stores in 2001 with the intention of on-court and off-court wear. The unique shroud inspired by 19th-century spats serves as a stylish element for streetwear, while the combination of Zoom Air and Nike Air cushioning makes for comfortable wear on the court. Following its 2001 release, the Air Jordan 16 'Midnight Navy' wouldn't see its first retro until 2016. As a call-out to the Air Jordan 16's place in the Jordan legacy, the design features Jordan branding composed of sixteen dots and dashes.
