In 2001, Nike released the Air Huarache LE 'White Red' sneaker as a limited edition update to the classic runner. The Air Huarache was the first sneaker to utilize neoprene in its upper, a detail that designer Tinker Hatfield claims was inspired by water skiing boots. This model sees the style in a White, Varsity Red and Medium grey palette, reprising the inner sleeve, caging and sturdy heel clip from the original.
