The New Balance 997 was first released as a dedicated running shoe in 1991, becoming a cult classic for its retro design. Symbolizing good luck, this 'Chinese New Year' version reinterprets the classic in celebration of the holiday with a bold Red mixed-material upper. A debossed bagua motif is imprinted on the tongue, with a tonal initial logo echoing the theme. An ENCAP and ABZORB midsole and a rubber outsole combine underfoot.
