The New Balance 996 first came out in 1988, adding extra cushioning and a dual-tone midsole to its already popular running silhouette. The kids'-sized New Balance 996 Wide Little Kids 'Red White' builds on that heritage, with a mesh and leather upper in red and white. A forefoot strap adds lockdown for little feet, and the New Balance 'N' logo sits in the middle of the vamp. Contrast is added by a grey overlay and gray ENCAP clip on the heel.
